Tr: Article of agreement for one fourth part,'or 375 A
Goose Creek Salt Works. Desc: White will give title for the above which tract includes the Goose Creek Salt Works, reserving the privilege of wood and water for his furnace together with one half of two A of the most eligible and advantageous land to be equally divided between the said parties, neither of which has the privilege to dig for salt water, it being intended for mantion houses, The said White has the use of the cabbins for one year during which he may have laid off the said two A and buildings thereon -in consideration of a total of $2000, ar l100 bushels of salt. The privilege of water to be the same as that mentioned in an article between Amis and Todd, and the titleto the land in the same manner as that made by John Crook to Amis. Wt: James Todd, John Crook, James White Dec 1806 John Amis and John Bates Agreement, both of Clay co Amis assigned all his interest in above to Bates (commonly known as Langford's saltworks) together with the one fourth part of lands claimed by said Langford, Crook, White and Patrick, known then by the "Lick lands and claimed by Langford, Crook, White and Patrick, which said one fourth was sold to Amis by White-Except Amis reserves the interest which White held in the building in partnership with Mr Crook, as well as 3 of the house or cabbins now in possession of William Joseph Tinsley. In consideration of which M.r Bates will give up to Amis all the metal which he now holds or owns about the Lick or Saltworks (except metal Bates has purchased of Mr. Mossin) plus a note for 300 bushels of merchantable salt, Bates will withdraw all his kittle from the furnace which he now occupies.
