IDA MAE

The August, 1910 Minutes of the Royal Oak Baptist Church state that a Committee was appointed by that church to attend the organizational meeting of a Baptist Church, with that committee to meet at the “crossroads” in Lee County.

The Booneville Association Minutes for 1910 declare the admission of a “new” church, Ida May, along with Mount Zion and Pleasant View. James H. Sams is listed as the Clerk of the Church with a post office address of Ida May with J. W. Sams and Alfred Sams serving as Messengers to the Associational meeting. The church reported a membership of fourteen with six of those having come by baptism and eight by letter.

The church did not send messengers or a letter to the 1911 meeting of the Association but the Minutes of Booneville Association do report James H. Sams as Clerk and the membership remains at 14.

In 1912, the church again did not send messengers nor a letter and the Association reports James H. Sams as Clerk and a membership of 14.

The minutes of the Association for 1913 and 1914 are missing and when we commence with the 1915 Minutes of Booneville Association, we find the church to have been dropped from membership.
