Cow Creek is off Hwy 28 East, heading towards Buckhorn from Booneville.
It was named by Richard Reynolds Sr., because he killed a buffalo cow there.
Many subsidiaries run off of Cow Creek.
The Wilson, Callahan, Gabbard, McIntosh, Jennings, and Moore families lived in that area.
