DEED INDENTURE BEWTEEN CORNELIUS BOWMAN

AND ELISHA BOWMAN

     This indenture made this second day of January in the year of our Lord 1813 between Cornelius Bowman of the county of Madison and the state of Kentucky  of the one part and Elisha Bowman of the county and state of aforesaid of the other part. ____________ that the said Cornelius Bowman doth by the presents___________ and bequeath unto the aforesaid Elisha Bowman my son his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres situate lying and being in the county of Madison and state of Kentucky.  It is being the north part of the tract on which I now live.  Beginning at a white oak and sugar tree in Flemings old settlement line, thence south eighty two east one hundred and twenty poles to two white oaks, thence south four east 27 poles to two hickories thence west 110 poles to a sugar tree and small ash thence south 40 poles to a stake and two white oaks pointers thence west 8 poles to a dogwood corner thence southeast by a line of Mask trees to a take in Flemings old settlement line, thence north with the said line to the beginning with all and singular the rights and privileges on appurtenance to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining thereto to have and hold the said land and premises with all and singular the rights privileges on appurtenances.  Profits interests or benefits to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Elisha Bowman my son his heirs and assigns as a clear undefeasible estate in fee simple absolute to all intents and purposes as can be held or enjoyed by the said Elisha Bowman my son and I Cornelius Bowman for myself my heirs doth further covenant and agree to and with the said Elisha Bowman that I will warrant and forever defend the legal right and title in and to the said land against all lawful claims of all manner of persons whatsoever to the only proper use and school of him the said Elisha Bowman my son his heirs and assigns forever.  In witness wherof the said Cornelius Bowman hath hereunto set his seal the day and date above written.
